What's New
GARMIN G500
Replaces your six-pack with twin screens
Designed specifically for FAR Part 23 Class 1/Class 2 aircraft (singles and twins under 6,000 lbs.), the G500 is an affordable, dual-screen electronic flight display that works with your Garmin avionics stack to provide a fully TSO’d “glass cockpit” retrofit option.
The G500’s 10-inch wide bezel fits neatly into the panel space vacated by your standard six-pack of mechanical 3-inch flight instruments. (In many cases the existing airspeed indicator, artificial horizon and altimeter can be relocated to serve as standby instrumentation.)
Dual 6.5-inch LCDs, mounted side-by-side in the bezel, put both Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multifunction Display (MFD) capabilities directly in your field of view to help streamline instrument scanning. You’ll see real-time True Airspeed calculations and selectable Winds Aloft data – as well as aircraft ground speed, GPS active waypoint, distance-to-waypoint, desired/actual track, and more.
On the left-hand side, the PFD consolidates all primary situational information regarding your aircraft’s position, speed, attitude, vertical rate, altitude and flight progress. For added visual orientation, a scaled version of Garmin’s SVT™ Synthetic Vision Technology is also available as an upgrade option – creating a 3-D “virtual reality” perspective view of flight and enroute terrain features. Aspen EFD Series
EFD Times Three — The Total Glass Cockpit System
The award-winning Evolution™ EFD1000 Pro Primary Flight Display (PFD), the EFD1000 Multi-Function Display (MFD), and the EFD500 MFD deliver Aspen’s total glass cockpit solution. The EFD1000 Pro and EFD1000 MFD provide the safety and confidence of DuoSafe™ full PFD instrument redundancy. The EFD500 MFD expands your display options with more display area and capabilities than competing products. This EFD trio brings the total glass cockpit to your GA aircraft — and Aspen makes it affordable. Aspen’s patented retrofit technology delivers substantially lower installation cost and total cost of ownership.
The EFD1000 Pro PFD provides professional-grade EFIS primary flight
instruments, with a full-featured electronic HSI with moving map. Adding
an EFD1000 MFD not only doubles your panel’s display area, it also delivers
full redundancy of critical systems and sensors. Add a third unit like the
affordable EFD500 MFD for the largest display area and most flexible panel
on the market.
The EFD1000 MFD uses the exact same hardware and software as the PFD, so
these units give you two of everything, not just two displays: dual independent
AHRS, Air Data Computers, compass systems, HSIs, and more.
With DuoSafe PFD redundancy, if your PFD fails, you simply press the REV
button on your MFD and your PFD display is right back in your primary
instrument scan. There’s less stress and potential confusion in a pressure
situation. No other GA glass cockpit system can give you this level of redundancy
and confidence at any price!
The highly flexible Evolution Flight Display System lets you install all three EFDs
at once or separately as your needs and your budget permit. EFDs are fully
upgradable, so you can add comprehensive hazard awareness capabilities and
other new features via software upgrades, without removing the display from
your panel. For more information from Aspen, click here.

GARMIN 696
This is more than a GPS, it is an electronic flight bag (EFB). It is certified as a class 1 and class 2 EFB. It has in its capability VFR charts, both high and low IFR enroute charts, airport diagrams, approach plates, DP’s, STAR’s, and AOPA’s Airport Facility Directory. Of course, this all by subscription to maintain it’s currency. With a subscription it also has complete weather capabilities. The only thing that this unit will not due is file your flight plan. The navigation database is the same as in other popular Garmin aviation products. With its large screen and its user friendly operating system, this is one of the most useful products on today’s market, plus it's portable. It basically makes your cockpit a paperless environment. If you would like a demonstration, please contact our office and set up a time. For more information from the Garmin website, click here.
Garmin Flight Plan Migrator Kit
Garmin is pleased to announce the addition of a new accessory for the GNS 400W/500W series products. The Garmin Flight Plan Migrator Kit is an essential tool for allowing operators to create and import multiple user waypoints and flight plans from their PC into a GNS 400W/500W series unit. The kit allows operators to generate and transfer flight plans into the GNS 400W/500W series unit from compatible 3rd party Flight Planning software (example: Jeppesen’s FliteStar – v. 9.4.3, Seattle Avionics’ Voyager – v. 4.20).

The Garmin Flight Plan Migrator Kit is composed of three elements – the Garmin USB Aviation
Card Programmer, the Garmin Flight Plan Data Card, and the Garmin Flight Plan Migrator
Software. The Flight Plan Migrator Kit also requires current GNS 400W/500W Main Software
(v. 3.20, or higher). Additional (or spare) data cards are available for purchase. The Garmin
USB Aviation Card Programmer can also be used by operators to update their Garmin
Obstacle and Terrain databases via fly.garmin.com.
